T

he house was built after the dark period of World War II, with a great hope for stability and happiness. It was built by Zdzisław - whom we all remember as the cheerful grandfather Zdzisiek - for his wife Janina and three children.

The family moved into a new house when the youngest of the siblings, Ania, was 2 years old. A few years later, in 1966, Janina – a lover of plants and gardens – planted a spruce tree, which now towers over the area. Her rhododendrons and magnolias also decorate the garden to this day.

Their happy childhood siblings – Ania, Zbyszek and Leszek – spent time with their peers on trips to the seaside, football matches and other games on the empty street. Ania, having older brothers, often served as a goalie.

With the passing of time, Anna’s husband, Tadeusz moved in. Soon after their children, Bartosz and Agnieszka inhabited the house at Lokietka in Sopot. Their childhood was also filled with games with their friends from the area.

And so, having lived here for generations, we are part of the local community. We have known our neighbours for years – their parents, their children and new-born grandchildren. The houses have no numbers for us, only the names of the residents.
Because we all enjoy being here – in this house, in this neighbourhood, in Sopot – we decided to extend the house. The building has been significantly expanded and modernized.

The main spirit of this big family project was the daughter of Zdzisław, Anna. Zdzisław’s grandson, Bartosz was the author of the architectural design and supervised the works. With the enormous amount of work, the husband of Zdzisław’s granddaughter, Łukasz, did the lion’s share. The building represents the classic Sopot style, distinguished in the area by a high level of composition and aesthetics.

The house is even more beautiful now, please feel welcome to visit us!
